Reformer Pilates

strength that lasts

Where my love of strength training and my love of yoga meet.

How I found the reformer

Alongside yoga, strength training has always been a big part of my life. I love the honesty of it. You show up, you do the work, and over time you get stronger. It makes me feel capable in my own body, and it gives me something steady to come back to, the same way my mat does.

At some point I became curious about why it felt so good, so I started reading and listening to everything I could find. And what I kept hearing was the same thing again and again: strength training is one of the most beneficial things we can do for ourselves.

It supports the mind, through steadier mood, focus and the way we handle stress. It supports the body, by building the muscle and bone that carry us through everyday life. And it supports the long run, because the strength we build now is what lets us keep moving freely, and with ease, for years to come.

I loved the reformer from the moment I tried it.

It felt like everything I already loved in one place. The challenge and resistance of strength training, together with the breath, control and awareness that yoga has taught me. Nothing was rushed. Every movement was supported, and I could feel exactly what my body was doing.

I did not want it to be something I dipped into now and then. I wanted it woven into my life, a part of how I look after my body and my mind. So I made room for it, and now I would love to share it with you.

Strong, steady and present: that is what I am building, and what I would love to build with you.

why strength matters

For the mind

Strength work asks for your full attention. There is no room to drift, and that focus is a quiet kind of relief. Many people notice steadier energy and mood.

For the body

Stronger muscles protect your joints, support your posture and make everyday movement easier. Strength is something you carry into everything else you do.

For the long run

Keeping muscle and bone strong as we age is one of the most useful things we can do for independence and ease later in life. It is never too early or too late to begin.

why the reformer

  1. 01

    Spring resistance

Adjustable springs load the muscles smoothly, so you build strength without impact on the joints.

  2. 02

    Support

The moving carriage and straps guide the body, which makes precise, controlled movement easier to find.

  3. 03

    Control

Slow, deliberate work with the breath. Quality of movement matters more than speed or reps.

  4. 04

    Every level

Springs and set-up change in seconds, so the same class can meet a beginner and someone who has trained for years.
